   Since the beginning of the semester, my PLN has grown and changed. In terms of people, I have met many new teachers and staff from the College of Education, whom I can ask about any teaching questions. For spaces, I have been introduced to the Technology Sandbox in Anne's College, which allows me to experience and test many classroom technologies. Finally, in terms of tools, I have gained many skills on social media so that I can use it for teaching inspiration and other useful purposes.

    I could use data-collection tools to assess students' understanding in my classroom. Since I want to teach third grade, I could use it at the beginning of more fact-based lessons. I could make a short quiz to assess comprehension of the last lesson before we begin the new one. Then, I could use the tools again at the end of the lesson to see how much information students retained.

    The next technology-related skill that I want to learn is how to use Excel effectively. I want to learn more shortcuts and functions within Excel by the end of this academic year. To achieve this, I will watch YouTube videos and use online resources. If I am still confused, I will ask one of my friends who knows how to use Excel for help.

 Blog Journal #8     I learned a lot of new skills while designing my website. One of the main things I had to learn was how to arrange the elements within the website. I figured out how to use spacing, sections, and much more. I wish that the website designer allowed you to move elements more freely, but other than that, I thought it was pretty user-friendly.  Blog Post #1      In this class, I hope to learn how to effectively use technology in a classroom and educational setting. I want to figure out the best ways to display information to students and their families. I also want to learn strategies for teaching through technology and for my own learning as an elementary school teacher. Learning is never done, so I want to know how to find the information that I need to constantly become a better teacher.     I have used technology a lot in my own learning environments. We have consistently used PowerPoints, Word documents, and other online platforms as a means of learning. I have also taught in a daycare for the past two years.   Blog Post #3     Cyberbullying is a major issue in technology use, especially among kids. Since I want to teach younger ages, I will need to ensure that technology is used very carefully within my classroom. I never want my future students to be vulnerable to cyberbullying, so I will closely monitor their technology use. We can utilize technology as a mostly class-wide tool, instead of doing a lot of personal activities. Since my future students will be young, their tech will probably be minimized and proctored by the school, so they will only have access to a few pre-approved resources.
